Just fishing the bay with Jimmy Z. A fish for him; a fish for me. Just fishing with Jimmy Z.

What's so fun about fishing with Jimmy is his enthusiasm over every fish, and every opportunity to catch a fish. I always ask my guests what they are looking for. I want to know if they are there to pass time - that's cool. Or if they are there to catch a bunch of fish, species and size irrelevant, - that's cool too. Or if they are willing to do what it takes to get a bigger fish - again, that's cool. If you fish San Diego Bay, and learn the different fish, and their habits, you know that there is a different method to each of the above scenarios. Jimmy wanted to do all of the above ... in the same day. Oy!

The other amazing thing about Jimmy Z, is his knack for letting fish go right before I get my camera out. Likewise, he is the first to have his camera out to take shots of just about everything. His love for San Diego Bay; the whole Big Bay, not just the fish, is something that shows on his face from launch to trailer. Something I know very well, because I too share that love of San Diego Bay.

Jimmy did manage to get a few shots of me, and that's always good for the ego. But really, it's what the camera can never capture that made this a great day. It goes beyond reports, beyond numbers, beyond fishing, beyond male bonding, and even beyond San Diego Bay itself. Thank you Jimmy Z, and thank you all for reading.
